Hey Gang!
One of the best things about miniature gaming, be it: Warhammer, Starcraft, Dungeons & Dragons, or Halo Flashpoint, is (arguably), the painting!
At the very least, there's nothing more satisfying than taking that grey plastic, and adding some colour and bringing out the details. Although it can seem intimidating at first glance, it is a excellent part of the hobby.
If you're new to painting miniatures there's a few simple ways and things you need to get started.
First and probably the most obvious is a miniature figure. Warhammer, and Starcraft models are great for the amount of detail in each model; but they need to be built using plastic glue first and will need to be primes using either, Army Painter colour primer, or Warhammer Colour primers. These primers are designed specifically to work with plastic and bond really well. If you're not looking for that much of a challenge or commitment, then Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures (D&D), or Halo Flashpoint models, might be the way to go. (Nolzurx's Marvelous Miniatures do NOT require priming.)
Next, your paint and brushes. The Army Painter offers a wide array of these, including some absolutely fantastic starter sets with multiple colours. Some even come with brushes and minis and save you a few dollars when buying a bundle.
If your basic paints a still a little intimidating for you, The Army Painter Speedpaints are a terrific route to making professional looking painted minitaures. Speedpaints are a fantastic tool for both beginners and pros. I use at least some Speedpaint on almost every model I paint!
